Security Consultancy Case Studies

CASE STUDY 1

Anubis was tasked to undertake a Security Audit of two facilities situated in Germany for a major international software organisation. The task was conducted in accordance with Client requirements and direction. Anubis was professional, thorough and communicated priority findings at critical points during the audit. A simple easy to understand audit report was produced that identified existing measures that were positive and effective, and also critical actions that were prioritised to ensure risks could be adequately managed. The service was completed within a designated timeframe with minimal disruption to client personnel. The audit provided further insight into the risk appetite of the organisation and made recommendation for mitigation and improvement.

CASE STUDY 2

A high value international organisation contacted Anubis to discuss a requirement for a security survey to be conducted at their facility in Yaroslavl, Russia. The initial consultation was to determine the perceived threats to the organisation and then follow-up with a facilities security survey. Anubis dispatched a senior consultant to survey the facility and make physical security recommendations. During the survey Anubis offered professional advice on risk assessment and security awareness of personnel to ensure consistency throughout the organisation, this was provided as part of the overall management of risk and vulnerability.

Anubis completed the survey incorporating the following stages:

  • Planning & Direction: Determine aims & objectives
  • Research / Investigate: Internal & external environment
  • Conduct Facility security survey
  • Identify suitable and sufficient controls and conduct a cost / benefit analysis
  • Produce detailed report highlighting priority recommendations.

CASE STUDY 3

A major Oil & Gas exploration company tasked Anubis to provide technical services in support of a large scale tender project in Angola. During the ongoing services, a requirement to receive consultation on information security was made by the Client. Anubis provided a subject matter expert to carry out an initial assessment of the working practices and procedures in place. During the assessment Anubis identified shortfalls in existing practices that if continued would have potentially led to major leakage of sensitive information. Recommendations were based upon the impact to the organisations assets and reputation. From this, critical actions were implemented by the Client immediately. This prevented potential high value loss and increased awareness of the risks to the organisation.

Anubis continued to provide an ongoing information security audit which resulted in improvement of overall security throughout the project and no loss occurred.
